With a patient who beat kidney cancer, Jan2014. I was a part of his medical team from the first hours in the Emergency Room, and these
kind of moments are what make my job so worthwhile.
Currently, I work as a Pediatric Oncologist, taking care of patients at Seattle Children’s Hospital and doing research and the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. People sometimes think that’s a hard job to have, and while it can be at times, I’m constantly amazed at the resilience and spirit of the kids I work with, and I wouldn’t trade the experience for anything else in the world.
In my free time I enjoy playing guitar, listening to live music, and all manner of water sports. I’m equally happy playing “Top Chef” in the kitchen or cooking up traditional barbeque in the backyard. And of course hanging out with my nieces and nephew, more often than not serving as their human jungle gym.
